Cashier/Customer Service Representative

Duties

• Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process sales, returns, and exchanges accurately.
• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product demos when needed.
• Manage cash handling duties including cash drawer balancing, making change, and ensuring transaction accuracy.
• Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance the shopping experience and increase sales.
• Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the sales floor is clean, attractive, and well-maintained.
• Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers remotely.
• Support merchandising efforts by arranging products attractively and maintaining proper signage throughout the store.

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently in both English and bilingual settings.
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and basic math skills for handling transactions accurately.
• Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service with a friendly demeanor.
• Supervising experience is a plus for candidates interested in growth opportunities within the team.
• Knowledge of retail store product details, merchandising techniques, and grocery store procedures is advantageous.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and perform physically active tasks as needed.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
