Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs, offering product demos when applicable
• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process retail sales transactions accurately
• Handle cash register operations, including cash handling, balancing cash drawers, and issuing receipts
• Provide knowledgeable assistance on store products, including merchandising and stock availability
• Upsell complementary products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, restocking supplies and ensuring merchandise is well-presented
• Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
• Support stocking duties by organizing shelves, managing inventory levels, and participating in product replenishment
• Engage in basic retail math to ensure accurate transaction totals and change distribution
• Assist with product demos for customers interested in trying new items or learning about features

Skills

• Proficiency in POS systems and cash register operations with strong cash handling skills
• Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments preferred
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with diverse customers in bilingual settings if applicable
• Strong customer service orientation with the ability to handle inquiries politely and professionally
• Supervising experience is a plus for those interested in leadership opportunities within the team
• Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising, and inventory management techniques
• Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions, discounts, and promotions
• Familiarity with upselling strategies to maximize sales while ensuring customer satisfaction
• Demonstrated phone etiquette skills for professional remote communication
• Experience with grocery store operations or similar environments is advantageous
