Duties

• Operate the cash register (POS system), handle cash, credit card, and mobile payments accurately during retail transactions.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and resolving concerns promptly.
• Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits, encouraging additional sales through upselling techniques.
• Assist with stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and maintaining organized product presentation to enhance store appearance.
• Manage the cash drawer efficiently, perform daily cash handling procedures, and ensure accurate balancing at shift end.
• Support store operations by supervising team members during busy periods, guiding new staff on cashier duties and customer engagement.
• Maintain knowledge of store products and promotions to assist customers effectively and promote retail sales initiatives.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred; familiarity with grocery store operations is a plus.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear information about products and services.
• Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve a diverse customer base effectively.
• Demonstrated proficiency in POS systems, cash register operations, and basic math for accurate transactions.
• Excellent phone etiquette for handling inquiries professionally over the phone or in person.
• Experience in supervising or leading team members is advantageous for supporting store operations.
• Knowledge of merchandising, stock management, and retail math to optimize sales opportunities.
