Cashier/Customer Service Representative

Carlson Old-Fashioned Farms is a family-run farm that brings fresh, local products to the Saint Marys area. Our Farm Shop is the heart of our operation. It's where neighbors, families, and visitors come to shop, ask questions, and get to know the farm. We're looking for a friendly, dependable person to join our team and help every customer leave happy.

Position Summary
As our Farm Shop Cashier, you'll be the first face customers see. You'll handle cash and card transactions accurately, keep the shop clean and welcoming, and give every customer friendly, helpful service.

Responsibilities

• Run the register and process cash, credit/debit, and other payments accurately
• Count your cash drawer at the start and end of each shift and balance it
• Greet customers warmly and answer questions about our products
• Help customers find items and resolve concerns politely and quickly
• Bag purchases carefully, especially fragile and perishable items
• Keep the checkout area, sales floor, and restrooms clean and organized
• Restock shelves and coolers and help keep displays neat
• Follow store policies on cash handling, safety, and sanitation
• Help with other shop and farm tasks when needed

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Accountable and trustworthy, especially with money
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
• Friendly, positive attitude and good communication skills
• Basic math skills and comfort using a register or POS system
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs
• Available to work weekends and holidays, which are our busiest times
• Cashier or customer service experience preferred but not required. We'll train the right person.

Schedule

• Full-time, approximately 35–40 hours per week
• Weekend and holiday availability required
• Hours may vary with the season
