Duties

• Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process retail sales transactions accurately.
• Handle cash, credit card payments, and other payment methods with precision, ensuring proper cash drawer handling.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos.
• Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales and improve the customer experience.
• Stock shelves, organize displays, and assist with merchandising to maintain an attractive store environment.
• Maintain phone etiquette when responding to customer inquiries or coordinating store operations.
• Support product demos and educate customers about features, benefits, and usage of various items.
• Assist in inventory management tasks such as stocking shelves and conducting stock counts as needed.
• Ensure the checkout area remains clean, organized, and welcoming at all times.

Experience

• Previous retail sales or cashiering experience is preferred, especially within grocery or specialty retail stores.
• Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team settings or during busy periods.
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math is essential for accuracy in transactions.
• Strong communication skills are vital for engaging with diverse customers effectively.
• Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve a broader customer base comfortably.
• Experience conducting product demos or upselling techniques will help maximize sales opportunities.
• Knowledge of grocery store operations or retail store product knowledge enhances overall performance in this role.

Pay: From $13.00 per hour
