Flora & Falcon is a family-owned, fair-trade boutique founded by a recent University of Pittsburgh graduate and Oakland native. We partner with skilled artisans in Nicaragua, Ecuador, Peru, and Nepal to offer thoughtfully curated, ethically sourced handmade goods.

Our mission is to make fair-trade products accessible while promoting sustainable alternatives to fast fashion. Through every purchase, customers directly support artisan communities around the world. We strive to create a welcoming space where students, healthcare professionals, and community members can discover unique products, learn the stories behind them, and make a positive global impact.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by warmly greeting customers, answering questions, and sharing the stories and impact behind our artisan-made products.
• Process sales accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Maintain an organized, visually appealing sales floor by stocking merchandise, arranging displays, and ensuring the store remains clean and inviting.
• Handle cash transactions responsibly, including opening and closing register procedures and balancing the cash drawer.
• Assist with inventory tasks, including pricing, tagging merchandise, and preparing products such as earrings for display.
• Support daily store operations and contribute to a positive shopping experience for every customer.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for customer service.
• Previous retail, cashier, or POS experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and basic math skills for accurate cash handling.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small team.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing light lifting, stocking, and merchandising tasks.
• Interest in fair trade, sustainability, handmade goods, or supporting small businesses is a plus.

Pay: $13.00 per hour
