Cashier/Food Runner

This is a tipped position which typically adds and additional $4-6(potentially more) per hour to base pay. There is an automatic 5% pay increase in January of each year.

White Duck Taco Shop is opening a new location in South End, Charlotte towards the end of July. We are hiring all positions as we prepare to open.

Duties

• Greet customers with enthusiasm, take their orders accurately, and process sales using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS.
• Handle cash transactions confidently, providing correct change and maintaining accurate cash handling records.
• Serve food promptly from the kitchen to tables or designated areas, ensuring proper food safety and sanitation standards are upheld.
• Assist in food preparation tasks when needed, supporting kitchen staff to ensure timely service.
• Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities.
• Clear tables, bus tables efficiently, and maintain cleanliness in dining and serving areas.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent customer service in a quick service or fast-food setting.

Requirements

• Previous experience in food service, quick service restaurants, or retail sales transactions is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; retail math skills are a plus.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
• Ability to handle food safely, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and retail transactions.
• Experience with food preparation, bussing, or kitchen operations is advantageous.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods, work efficiently under pressure, and manage time effectively.

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
