Cashier/Host

SQZBX is looking for a Cashier / Host to join our front-of-house team. This position is responsible for creating a welcoming first impression, helping customers navigate the ordering process, and keeping the front of house organized and running smoothly.

We’re looking for someone who is friendly, dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a busy restaurant environment. You should be able to communicate well, stay calm when things get hectic, and genuinely enjoy taking care of people.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, attentive service
• Take dine-in and to-go orders accurately through the POS system
• Process cash, credit card, and other payments accurately
• Answer customer questions about food, beer, and the menu
• Assist with seating and managing the host area during busy periods
• Coordinate with servers, kitchen staff, and managers to keep service running smoothly
• Organize and package to-go orders
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front entrance and counter area
• Restock menus, supplies, and other front-of-house necessities
• Assist with other front-of-house duties as needed

• Able to take direction and communicate effectively with managers and coworkers
• Restaurant or customer-service experience is preferred, but we’re willing to train the right person

We take our work seriously, but we don't believe you have to be miserable while doing it.

SQZBX is a busy pizza and brewery restaurant with a slightly unusual personality, a lot of moving parts, and more antique musical instruments than most restaurants probably need. We like people who are friendly, helpful, and able to roll with the occasional bit of chaos.

At the same time, kindness, professionalism, cleanliness, and reliability are non-negotiable. We expect our team to treat customers and coworkers with respect and to show up ready to contribute.

Previous restaurant experience is a plus. A good attitude and strong work ethic are even better.

Pay: From $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
