Cashier/Sales Associate

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Cashier/Sales associate to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service while efficiently handling transactions. Your ability to engage with customers and assist them in their shopping experience will be key to our success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail sales and cash handling, with a focus on creating a positive shopping environment.

Duties

• Operate cash registers and process customer transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product selection.
• Maintain knowledge of store products and promotions to effectively sell items and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Supervise junior staff as needed, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Assist in inventory management by restocking shelves and organizing merchandise displays.
• Utilize retail math skills to manage transactions and provide accurate change.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the checkout area.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred.
• Strong cash handling skills with familiarity using POS systems.
• Ability to perform basic retail math calculations.
• Excellent communication skills; bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Experience in a grocery store setting is a plus but not required.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team environment.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and customer service.
