Cashier/Sales Associate

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual in Spanish abilities and previous retail or grocery store experience are a plus.

Duties

• Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions
• Greet customers warmly and assist with product inquiries
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments accurately and securely
• Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales
• Maintain proper cash handling procedures and balance registers at shift end
• Stock shelves, merchandise displays, and assist with inventory management
• Conduct product demos when applicable to engage customers
• Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and welcoming
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions and resolving issues promptly
• Assist with merchandising, stocking, and store cleanliness as needed

Requirements

Must be 21 years old and older!

• Previous cashiering experience in retail or grocery store environments preferred
• Strong communication skills and phone etiquette
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and balancing registers
• Knowledge of POS systems and cashiering procedures
• Ability to upsell products and promote sales effectively
• Bilingual in Spanish abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
• Supervising experience is beneficial for leadership opportunities
• Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly attitude
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail setting
• Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends if required

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
