Casting Design - Catia

We are looking for a Design Engineer with strong experience in CATIA V5 and casting component design to work on automotive/mechanical product development. The candidate will be responsible for 3D modelling, 2D detailing, design development and engineering changes while ensuring manufacturability and adherence to GD&T standards.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design and develop automotive casting components using CATIA V5.
• Create and modify 3D models, assemblies and 2D manufacturing drawings.
• Work on casting components related to automotive/powertrain applications.
• Apply GD&T, dimensional tolerances and engineering drawing standards.
• Ensure designs are suitable for manufacturing, casting and machining processes.
• Consider draft angles, machining allowance, wall thickness, parting line and other casting requirements during design.
• Perform design feasibility checks and incorporate DFM/DFA principles.
• Support design reviews, prototype development and design validation.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Suppliers and other cross-functional teams for design-related issues.
• Implement engineering changes, design modifications and drawing revisions.
• Prepare and maintain BOM, drawings and engineering documentation.
• Support tolerance stack-up and design optimization activities.
• Ensure timely release of drawings and design data through PLM systems such as Teamcenter.
• Participate in NPD/product development activities and support projects from concept to production.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, quality improvement and design optimization.

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience in CATIA V5.
• Experience in Casting Component Design.
• Good knowledge of 3D Modelling, Assembly Design and 2D Drafting.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and dimensional tolerancing.
• Knowledge of DFM/DFA and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of casting and machining requirements.
• Experience in automotive / mechanical product development.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
