Thunderbird Motel Yass is looking for a Casual Chef/Cook to join our friendly and professional team.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Cook or Chef looking for flexible casual work in a busy hotel environment. The role will provide variety, with shifts potentially covering breakfast, dinner service, functions and group bookings.

About the Role

As a Casual Chef/Cook, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing and cooking quality meals for our hotel guests
• Working across breakfast, dinner, functions and group bookings as required
• Preparing food efficiently for individual and larger group services
• Following recipes, presentation standards and food safety requirements
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised kitchen
• Assisting with stock control and minimising food waste
• Working effectively during busy service periods
• Working collaboratively with the wider hotel team

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has previous commercial kitchen, Cook or Chef experience
• Hotel Cook/Chef experience will be highly regarded
• Is confident working across different types of service
• Has a positive, reliable and can-do attitude
• Can work independently as well as part of a team
• Takes pride in preparing quality food
• Is organised and able to work efficiently in a busy environment
• Has a good understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
• Has a current Food Safety Supervisor certificate will be highly regarded but not essential.
