Casual Duty Manager

About the role

As Duty Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the venue while delivering exceptional customer service to our members and guests. You will lead and support our frontline team, maintain high service standards and ensure the venue operates safely, efficiently and in accordance with all relevant legislation and venue procedures. The role will initially be approximately 30 hours.

Key responsibilities

• Overseeing the smooth day-to-day operation of the venue during your shift
• Leading, supporting and motivating frontline team members
• Managing shifts and ensuring consistently high customer service standards
• Handling cash, banking, safe reconciliation and till balancing
• Managing incidents, complaints and customer concerns in a professional and appropriate manner
• Ensuring compliance with RSA, RSG, AML/CTF, WH&S and all relevant venue policies and procedures
• Monitoring venue presentation, service standards and operational requirements
• Working collaboratively with Managers and Supervisors across the venue
• Supporting and contributing to a positive, respectful and inclusive team culture
• Assisting with the resolution of operational issues and ensuring a high-quality experience for members and guests

About you

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar Duty Manager, hospitality leadership or venue operations role
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities
• A sound understanding of licensing and gaming legislation
• Proven experience in cash handling, banking and reconciliation
• TAB and Keno experience
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills
• The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
• A genuine commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
• Flexible availability across a 7-day roster, including nights, weekends and public holidays
• Current RSA Certificate
• Current RSG Certificate
• Current RMLV Certificate
• Current Approved Manager's Licence (Queensland)
