We are currently looking for a Casual Mortuary Transfer Assistant to join our team, primarily assisting with mortuary transfers across weekends.

This is a unique and meaningful role suited to someone who is respectful, dependable and compassionate, and who takes pride in providing a high standard of care.

About the role

As a Mortuary Transfer Assistant, you will be responsible for the respectful and dignified transfer of deceased persons into our care from locations including:

• Hospitals
• Nursing homes and aged care facilities
• Family and private homes
• Other healthcare and care facilities

The role will primarily involve weekend and public holiday availability between 6:00am and 7:00pm, with shifts and hours offered on a casual basis depending on operational requirements.

You will work as part of the wider H. Parsons team and will be provided with the training and support required to carry out the role professionally and confidently.

What we’re looking for

• Compassionate, respectful and professional
• Reliable and available to work weekends
• Well-presented with excellent communication skills and able to represent H. Parsons professionally
• Comfortable working within the funeral industry and caring for deceased persons
• Able to communicate appropriately with grieving families, healthcare professionals and other members of the community
• Physically capable of safely assisting with transfers and manual handling
• Able to remain calm and composed in sensitive situations
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Hold a current unrestricted driver’s licence

Previous experience in the funeral industry is not essential. The right attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are more important to us, and appropriate training will be provided.
