Casual Sales Associate

We are a small boutique store in Whistler, BC looking for a Seasonal / Casual Retail Associate to join our close-knit team.

3 Singing Birds is a gathering of independent clothing and lifestyle artisans who produce with a mindful and fair-trade philosophy. It was created out of a love for local designers and handcrafted products that are inspired by this beautiful part of the world. We have been awarded Pique Magazine’s ‘Best Gift Shop’ for multiple consecutive years and have been featured in various editorials such as the New York Times.

The Role & Timeline:

As a seasonal, on-call employee, your schedule will fluctuate based on store needs. This position is ideal for someone looking for flexible, ramping hours ahead of the winter season:

October & November: Getting started with weekend training coverage, plus a few filling-in shifts to cover full-time staff vacations or sick leave.

December & January: Peak season with significantly more shifts to cover the holiday rush and staff leaves.

February and beyond: Ongoing on-call coverage for staff absences and busy weekends.

Compensation & Hours:

• Starting Wage: $22.00 per hour
• Standard Shifts: Typically run from 10:15 AM – 6:15 PM (with shorter half-day shifts dependent on scheduling). For shifts over 5 hours, this includes a 30 min paid lunch break.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.
• Supporting the till team by bagging purchases.
• Maintaining, restocking, and monitoring merchandise and overall store aesthetic.
• General tidiness and cleanliness of the shop.

Requirements:

• High flexibility: Must be available for holidays and coverage for leaves.
• Basic understanding of retail sales principles and customer service practices.
• Proficiency in English with solid communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math skills.
• A friendly, energetic personality with a strong customer service focus.
• Ability to perform under pressure and address customer needs promptly.
