Cat Café Manager

We are looking for a warm, capable Cat Café Manager to lead the daily operations of our cat-friendly café and help create a calm, happy environment for both guests and our feline residents.

This is more than a café-management role: you will be responsible for ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety, supporting the café team, and—most importantly—putting the cats’ welfare first.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily café operations, including opening, closing, staff scheduling, stock control and cash handling
• Lead, train and motivate front-of-house and café staff
• Deliver friendly, attentive customer service and handle guest feedback professionally
• Maintain food safety, cleanliness and operational standards
• Oversee cat-area routines, including cleanliness, guest rules and coordination with veterinary or rescue partners where needed
• Monitor cats’ behaviour and wellbeing, and ensure guests interact with them safely and respectfully
• Plan simple promotions, events or adoption-related activities to grow the café community
• Work closely with the owner to improve sales, operations and the customer experience

What we are looking for

• A genuine cat lover with a strong understanding that animal welfare always comes first
• Previous experience in café, restaurant, retail, hospitality or team management
• A responsible, organised and hands-on management style
• Strong communication and people-management skills
• Confidence handling customer enquiries and resolving issues calmly
• High standards of hygiene, cleanliness and attention to detail
• Availability to work weekends, public holidays and flexible shifts when required
• Experience with cat care, animal rescue, veterinary environments or pet-related businesses is a strong advantage
