What they need
Category Assistant
At Whitcoulls, we’ve been inspiring New Zealanders for generations with everything from bestselling books and beautiful stationery to gifts, games, and toys that spark creativity and fun. As one of New Zealand’s most loved retail brands, we’re passionate about creating memorable experiences for our customers — and now we’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven Category Assistant to join our Auckland Support Office team.
This is an exciting opportunity to step into the world of retail buying and category management, working alongside an experienced and supportive team. You’ll play a key role behind the scenes, helping bring our product ranges to life through administration and system support, promotions, stock management, range coordination, and maintaining accurate product data.
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves staying organised while juggling multiple priorities. You’ll bring:
- Strong administration and numerical skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- A positive, can-do attitude
- Great communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and intermediate Excel skills
You’ll also be someone who enjoys working collaboratively, can adapt quickly when priorities shift, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
In return, Whitcoulls offers the chance to build your career within an iconic New Zealand retail business, gain hands-on experience in category and retail management, and work with a passionate team. We’re committed to creating an environment where our people feel empowered to grow, contribute, and achieve both their professional and personal goals.
If you’re ready to take the next step in your career and be part of a proudly NZ-owned retail group, we’d love to hear from you.
To be considered for this role, you must be eligible to work in New Zealand. We look forward to receiving your application.
