Category Manager (Engineering Equipment/Parts)

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies for assigned materials and services, taking into account demand, market conditions, cost, quality, delivery, and risk.
• Analyse spend, supplier base, demand patterns, and market benchmarks to identify savings, consolidation, framework agreements, direct sourcing, and demand-management opportunities.
• Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing, including requirement definition, RFx, evaluation, negotiation, award recommendations, and benefits tracking.
• Partner with business units and corporate functions to improve early procurement involvement in planning, budgeting, supplier selection, and major spend decisions.
• Manage supplier relationships and contracts for assigned categories, including performance reviews, issue resolution, risk mitigation, commercial terms, compliance, and renewals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
• 8–10 years’ experience in procurement, category management, strategic sourcing, commercial, supply chain, or supplier management.
• Relevant background in engineering, construction, facilities, maintenance, subcontracting, or project-based procurement.
• Solid knowledge of category management, tendering, negotiation, contract management, supplier performance, and procurement governance.
• Strong analytical, commercial, stakeholder, and negotiation skills, with fluent English and Chinese; ERP, procurement systems, or Power BI experience preferred.
