Category Specialist (Procurement / Supply Chain)

Salary: Up to $5,000/month

Working Location: DUO Tower, Singapore
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

About the Role

Join a leading global energy company as a Category Specialist, supporting the Asia Pacific & Middle East Supply Chain Management team. In this role, you will work closely with regional procurement leaders to support category management strategies, supplier performance, sourcing initiatives, and procurement projects across joint venture refinery operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of category and procurement strategies.
• Conduct market research, supplier analysis, spend analysis, benchmarking, and cost modelling.
• Prepare business cases and commercial evaluations to support sourcing decisions.
• Coordinate sourcing activities and category management initiatives across the region.
• Support supplier performance management and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver sustainable cost savings and procurement solutions.
• Assist in contract planning, strategic sourcing, negotiations, and supplier management activities.
• Coordinate regional procurement meetings, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Track project milestones, action items, and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Legal, Risk, Tax, Operations, and Maintenance.
• Support procurement process improvements and implementation of regional procurement standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
• 2–3 years of procurement or category management experience.
• Experience within Oil & Gas, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, or other process industries is preferred.
• Knowledge of category management, strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier management.
• Exposure to cost modelling, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), or procurement analytics is advantageous.
• Experience supporting procurement activities for plant, refinery, terminal, or manufacturing environments is a plus.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a regional, collaborative environment.
