Sally Tomatoes Catering & Event Center is looking for dependable, energetic Seasonal On-Call Catering Staff to join our event team.

This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for flexible, part-time work with hourly pay plus generous event tips. Our catering team works a variety of events throughout Sonoma County and the surrounding area, including weddings, corporate events, private parties, celebrations, community events, and large-scale catered functions.

No two events are exactly the same. Depending on the event, you may help set up a venue, prepare buffet or dining areas, serve guests, keep food stations stocked, clear tables, and assist with cleanup at the end of the event.

This is an on-call/seasonal position, so hours will vary based on our event schedule. It is ideal for someone looking to pick up additional shifts, earn extra income, or gain experience in catering and hospitality.

Compensation: Hourly pay + generous tips

Responsibilities

• Assist with catering events, weddings, corporate functions, private parties, and other special events
• Set up tables, chairs, linens, buffet stations, beverage stations, serviceware, and event equipment
• Serve food and beverages to guests in a friendly and professional manner
• Keep buffet stations stocked, organized, and presentable throughout service
• Bus tables, clear plates and glassware, and maintain clean guest areas
• Assist with plated, buffet-style, family-style, and appetizer service depending on the event
• Help load, unload, organize, and transport catering equipment and supplies when needed
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
• Assist the catering lead and other team members throughout the event
• Help break down and clean event spaces at the conclusion of service
• Provide welcoming, attentive guest service that reflects Sally Tomatoes' hospitality standards

What We're Looking For

• Catering, banquet, restaurant, hospitality, or event experience is preferred, but not required for the right candidate
• Dependable and punctual — our events rely on the entire team arriving on time and ready to work
• Friendly, professional, and comfortable interacting with guests
• Able to work efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced event environment
• Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods
• Able to lift and carry catering supplies, trays, tables, and event equipment as needed
• Willing to follow direction from event leads and adapt as events change
• Reliable transportation to event locations is preferred
• Availability for evenings, weekends, weddings, holidays, and seasonal events is especially valuable
• Must maintain a professional appearance while working events

Schedule

This is a seasonal, on-call catering position. There is no fixed weekly schedule. Team members are offered shifts based on upcoming events and staffing needs, making this a good fit for people who want flexibility or additional income alongside another job, school, or other commitments.

Our busiest periods typically include weddings, holiday parties, corporate events, and other seasonal celebrations.
