Private Aviation / In-Flight Catering
About the Role
We are a growing in-flight catering company serving private aviation in Maine and New Hampshire. We are looking for a dependable, highly organized Flight Catering Operations Coordinator / Lead to take ownership of the day-to-day flow of our Portland catering operation.
This is not simply a delivery position.
You will be the person connecting incoming orders, our kitchen team, and airport deliveries—making sure everyone knows what needs to happen, orders are prepared correctly, and catering reaches the aircraft on time.
Our kitchen team should be able to focus on preparing great food. Your job is to make everything around them run smoothly.
Your Responsibilities
Order & Kitchen Coordination
- Review incoming catering orders and organize them for the kitchen
- Make sure the kitchen team knows exactly what needs to be prepared and by when
- Prioritize orders based on delivery and flight times
- Prepare and organize order tickets, labels, and special instructions
- Check quantities, packaging, dietary requirements, and special requests
- Perform final order checks before catering leaves the kitchen
- Make sure nothing is missing, mislabeled, or overlooked
Airport Deliveries
- Organize and complete catering deliveries to local airports and FBOs
- Ensure orders arrive accurately and on time
- Communicate professionally with airport and FBO personnel
- Respond calmly when flight times, orders, or priorities change
Daily Operations
- Be the point person between incoming orders, the kitchen, and deliveries
- Keep the day’s orders organized and moving
- Anticipate what the kitchen will need before they need it
- Identify missing products, packaging, or supplies
- Communicate problems quickly and help solve them
- Take responsibility for making sure the day’s operation runs smoothly from start to finish
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who takes ownership.
You should be someone who notices what needs to be done and gets it done without needing to be constantly directed.
The ideal candidate is:
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented
- Dependable and punctual
- Comfortable taking responsibility
- Able to work independently
- Confident communicating with and coordinating a kitchen team
- Calm and resourceful under pressure
- Able to juggle multiple orders and deadlines
- Comfortable with technology, including email, text messaging, tablets, and order-management systems
- Professional and friendly when interacting with clients, airport personnel, and our team
Experience in catering, restaurants, hospitality, logistics, aviation, kitchen management, or operations is preferred.
Schedule
Early-morning availability is essential.
Private aviation catering often requires very early deliveries, and some shifts may begin around 5:00–5:30 AM.
Weekend and holiday availability will also be needed depending on flight schedules and catering volume.
Hours may vary based on business needs.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to safely transport catering orders
- Ability to lift and carry catering boxes, trays, and supplies
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and some holidays
- Strong communication skills
- ServSafe certification is a plus
Pay & Benefits
Starting at $25/hour, with the opportunity for increased compensation as you grow into the position and take on greater responsibility.
We want someone who can grow with our company, and we believe in sharing that growth with our team.
Benefits and incentives may become available after meeting applicable eligibility requirements and may include:
- 401(k) with company matching
- Health insurance reimbursement
- Profit-sharing opportunities
- Opportunities for increased pay and responsibility
- Potential advancement into an Operations Manager position
Specific benefit eligibility and timing will be discussed during the hiring process.
What Success Looks Like
At the end of the day:
Orders are organized.
The kitchen knows exactly what to prepare.
Everything is packaged and labeled correctly.
Nothing is forgotten.

Customers receive exactly what they ordered.
When something unexpected happens, you don’t wait for someone else to solve it—you communicate, make a plan, and help keep the operation moving.
If you are dependable, organized, enjoy taking responsibility, and like working in a fast-moving environment where every day is a little different, we’d love to hear from you
