Catering Assistant

Required as soon as possible

22.5 hours per week - Term time plus 2 days
Hours of Work – 9.30am to 2.30pm with a 30 minute lunch
Salary G2 (£26,016 pro rata. Actual £13,339)

We are seeking to appoint a Catering Assistant to join our in-house catering service providing a breakfast, break and lunchtime service for over 1,000 pupils.

The successful candidate will be well organised, have the ability to work under pressure, have an extremely flexible approach to work, the ability to communicate at all levels and be able to work as part of a successful catering team.

You will carry out normal kitchen duties as part of a larger team which will include:-

· Food preparation, cooking and service to a high standard,

· Ensuring the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards,

· Washing up and cleaning to a high standard,

· Operating of biometric cash tills and counting and recording of cash,

· General kitchen and dining room duties.

Ideally candidates will hold a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, however training will be provided for the right person. Previous experience of working in a school catering environment is desirable but not essential.
