Job Title: Catering Assistant (Maternity Cover – Part-Time)

Location: Poole, Dorset

Salary: £12.71 per hour

Contract Length: 8 Months (Fixed Term)

Hours: 4 days per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) Mondays hours 7:45-2:30 Wednesday to Friday 9AM – 1:30 PM

About the Role

We are seeking a friendly and reliable Catering Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis to cover a maternity leave.

• You will assist in our busy kitchen, helping with food preparation, counter service, and maintaining strict hygiene standards.
• This is a fixed-term contract for approximately 8 months, offering a consistent schedule across four set days each week.

Key Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Assist the kitchen team with preparing fresh ingredients, salads, and light snacks.
• Customer Service: Serve meals to customers or residents efficiently with a warm, welcoming attitude.
• Hygiene & Safety: Clean food preparation areas, wash dishes, and strictly follow food safety guidelines (HACCP).
• Stock Control: Help check in deliveries and rotate stock to ensure minimum wastage.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: Previous experience in a professional kitchen, café, school, or hospitality environment is preferred.
• Qualifications: A valid Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2) is a strong advantage, though training can be provided.
• Attributes: Reliable, a good team player, and able to work quickly during peak service hours.
