Catering Assistant

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable, friendly and motivated Catering Assistant to join our Catering Team in providing high-quality meals and a welcoming dining experience for our residents.

The successful candidate will play an important role in the daily running of the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring that meals are prepared and served to a high standard while maintaining excellent hygiene and food safety practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and service of meals in accordance with residents’ dietary requirements.
• Prepare dining areas and serve meals to residents in a friendly and respectful manner.
• Clear, clean and reset tables following meal service.
• Wash dishes, utensils and kitchen equipment, ensuring the kitchen is kept clean and organised.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with HACCP and food safety procedures.
• Follow instructions from the Chef Manager and work effectively as part of the catering team.
• Treat residents with dignity, kindness and respect at all times.
• Carry out other reasonable duties associated with the position.

The Ideal Candidate

• Has a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
• Is reliable, punctual and well organised.
• Can work effectively as part of a team.
• Demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Has an awareness of food hygiene and safety requirements.
• Shows compassion and an understanding of the needs of older people.

Previous catering experience and a food hygiene qualification would be an advantage but are not essential, as training can be provided.

€15 per hour meals provided 30 hours per week
