Catering Assistant – Shipboard Operations

We are recruiting on behalf of a client for a Catering Assistant to support the day-to-day catering operation during vessel-based assignments from the Hull area.

This is a practical role for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, keeping things organised and helping maintain a clean and welcoming dining environment. You will support the catering team with food service, preparation and general kitchen duties.

Working Pattern

The position operates on a fixed 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation. During working periods, you will remain on site and work as part of the catering team. Accommodation, meals and travel arrangements are provided during assignments.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with preparation and serving of meals

• Setting up dining and service areas

• Keeping kitchens, dining areas and equipment clean and organised

• Washing and storing kitchen equipment and utensils

• Replenishing food, beverages and catering supplies

• Supporting stock checks and storage of catering supplies

• Following food hygiene and workplace safety procedures

• Assisting catering colleagues with general daily tasks

• Maintaining a clean and orderly working environment

Previous experience in catering, hospitality, food service, housekeeping or general support work is beneficial but not essential.

Salary and Conditions

£27,000–£31,000 per year

The position also includes:

• Fixed 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation
