Cath Lab Nurse

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF CATH LAB NURSE:

· Assisting the Doctors during the patient’s procedures in all Diagnostics CAG, PAG, CATH study etc & Interventional procedures Angioplasty, IABP, TPI, PPI , Primary PTCA, Pericardial tapping, ASD Device closure etc.

· Taking care of pre and post cath patients

· Assessment of Vital signs and Monitoring intake output chart

· Planning and implementation of patient care

· Planning patient care

· Following physician rounds and carrying out the orders prescribed

· Assisting for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

· Asepsis and infection control.

· CPR, Intra muscular & Intra venous injections, Venupuncture, Venous sample collection.

· Monitoring blood glucose values with the use of glucometer

· Maintaining records and reports.

· Formulating nursing diagnosis.

· Implementation of plan of care.

· Patient & family education

· Evaluation of care given.

· Ongoing assessment.

· Maintaining sterile technique during the procedure

· Transferring the patients to the ward.
