Cath Lab Registered Nurse

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Cath Lab Registered Nurse to join our dynamic cardiovascular team. Duties

• Deliver specialized nursing care to patients during cardiac catheterizations, angiograms, stent placements, and other interventional procedures, maintaining strict adherence to aseptic technique and safety protocols.
• Monitor patient vital signs, oxygenation levels, and hemodynamic parameters using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic and Cerner, documenting all assessments accurately.
• Assist physicians with invasive procedures by preparing sterile equipment, managing catheters, and ensuring proper functioning of all devices involved in the procedure.
• Administer medications including sedation, analgesics, and contrast agents like iodine-based dyes used in diagnostic imaging such as CT scans.
• Provide post-procedure care including patient assessment for complications such as bleeding or arrhythmias, and educate patients on recovery protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including cardiologists, radiologists, anesthesiologists, and radiologic technologists to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care.
• Maintain strict infection control standards, including proper sterilization of equipment and adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure with active state registration; prior experience working as a Cath Lab Nurse or in a similar invasive cardiology setting is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with ICD coding and medical documentation standards.
• Critical care experience in settings like ICU or emergency medicine that involved acute pain management, airway management, and telemetry monitoring.
• Knowledge of advanced cardiovascular procedures including cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, and vascular interventions.
• Experience with diagnostic imaging modalities such as CT scans; familiarity with sterile processing techniques is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of physiology principles related to cardiovascular health; ability to perform patient assessments and triage effectively.
• Additional skills in IV infusion therapy, suturing, specimen collection/processing, and medication administration are desirable.

Pay: $1,900.00 - $2,000.00 per week
