Cath Lab Technician

• **Patient Preparation:**Cath Lab Technicians prepare patients for procedures by taking vital signs, starting IV lines, reviewing medical history, and explaining the procedure.
• **Equipment Preparation and Maintenance:**They ensure all necessary equipment is sterile, functional, and ready for use, including imaging equipment like fluoroscopy machines.
• **Patient Monitoring:**Technicians closely monitor patients' vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation, throughout the procedure.
• **Assisting Physicians:**They assist cardiologists during procedures, which may involve inserting catheters, administering contrast agents, and operating imaging equipment.
• **Documentation and Record Keeping:**They accurately document patient information, procedure details, and any relevant observations.
• **Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:**They are responsible for troubleshooting equipment issues and assisting with any complications that may arise during the procedure.
• **Post-Procedure Care:**Technicians provide post-procedure care, including patient education on wound care, activity restrictions, and medication instructions.
• **Inventory Management:**They may also be involved in maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment within the cath lab.
• **Emergency Response:**Cath Lab Technicians are trained to respond to emergency situations and assist with procedures like angioplasty or stent placement.
