Role Summary

We are looking for a Fixture Design Engineer with experience in CATIA V5, fixture design principles, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). The candidate will be responsible for designing fixtures based on engineering requirements, ensuring dimensional accuracy, functionality, and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop fixtures using CATIA V5.
• Apply fixture design principles to develop effective and reliable fixture solutions.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
• Ensure proper component positioning, locating, clamping, and repeatability in fixture designs.
• Review designs for dimensional accuracy, manufacturability, and ease of assembly.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, and production teams to resolve design-related issues.
• Modify and optimize fixture designs based on engineering feedback and production requirements.
• Support checking fixture design and development activities, where applicable.

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience with CATIA V5 for 3D modelling and 2D detailing.
• Strong understanding of fixture design principles.
• Good knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and dimensional tolerances.
• Understanding of locating, clamping, and positioning principles in fixture design.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in checking fixture design and development.
• Knowledge of inspection methods and dimensional verification.
• Understanding of automotive component manufacturing and quality requirements.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Candidates with experience in fixture design using CATIA V5, a strong understanding of GD&T, and knowledge of checking fixtures will be preferred.
