CBIC Test Prep Writer

Position Summary

We are looking for a knowledgeable Infection Prevention and Control Writer to create clear, accurate, human-authored test-preparation content for the initial CIC® certification examination offered by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC). This remote, project-based contractor role includes writing instructional content and original practice questions with answer explanations. You will research authoritative sources, organize complex information, and help candidates understand how to apply infection-prevention concepts.

Role Qualifications

• A current CIC® credential is preferred, but it is not required.
• Strong working knowledge of infection prevention and control topics covered by the initial CIC examination, such as surveillance and epidemiologic investigation, prevention and control of infectious diseases, environment of care, employee and occupational health, and education and research.
• Relevant professional experience in infection prevention and control, nursing, epidemiology, public health, healthcare quality, or a related field is helpful.
• Strong research, writing, organization, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Ability to explain clinical and epidemiologic concepts clearly for learners preparing for an exam.
• Ability to create original, accurate practice questions with plausible answer choices and instructive explanations, grounded in reliable sources and current exam guidance.
• Careful attention to terminology, evidence, accuracy, and detail; familiarity with Microsoft Word or Google Docs is helpful.
