Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
Full-Time | Kansas City Metro | Community-Based | Non-Exempt | $20.50-$22.40/hour + Full Benefits

CDD is looking for a compassionate, skilled Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide direct behavioral support to adults with developmental disabilities in home and community settings. Working under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), you will implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) programming, Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and skill-acquisition strategies that help individuals build greater independence and participate more fully in community life.

Why You'll Love Working at CDD

  • Make a meaningful impact by helping individuals build skills, confidence, and greater independence.
  • Community-based role supporting adults rather than working in a classroom or school environment.
  • Flexible scheduling coordinated around individual and family needs and Community Support service schedules.
  • Work under BCBA guidance while implementing ABA programming and Behavior Intervention Plans.
  • Collaborate with Community Support staff, residential teams, families, and other professionals.
  • Full-time benefits, paid training, and opportunities for professional growth.

What You'll Do

  • Implement ABA treatment plans, Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and skill-acquisition programs under BCBA supervision.
  • Provide direct behavioral support during daily routines, activities, transitions, and community participation.
  • Use positive behavior supports, reinforcement strategies, de-escalation techniques, and approved crisis-intervention procedures.
  • Collect objective behavioral data and complete service documentation, progress notes, and incident reports.
  • Model behavioral strategies and support staff in implementing interventions consistently.
  • Assist with behavior assessments and plan updates while promoting dignity, independence, and self-determination.

What You Bring

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Knowledge of ABA principles, positive behavior supports, data collection, crisis prevention, and de-escalation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, documentation, and person-centered support skills.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background screening and agency requirements.

Preferred

  • One to two years of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral challenges.
  • Experience implementing ABA interventions or Behavior Intervention Plans in community-based, residential, or human-services settings.

The Role at a Glance

  • Pay: $20.50-$22.40/hour
  • Schedule: Full-time | Flexible hours coordinated around individuals, families, and Community Support service needs
  • Work Setting: Community-based and residential settings across the Kansas City metro
  • Supervision: Works under a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • Benefits: Health, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, PTO, and more
