CDI Manager

About the role

The Manager – CDI Operations will oversee assigned U.S. healthcare CDI operations in the Philippines, leading teams that support accurate clinical documentation and high-quality healthcare services. This role is responsible for operational strategy, people leadership, client partnerships, and performance across quality, productivity, turnaround time (TAT), utilization, service-level agreement (SLA) achievement, compliance, and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily CDI operations and staffing to meet productivity, utilization, TAT, SLA, quality, and client service targets
• Monitor dashboards and reports, identify performance gaps and risks, and implement corrective actions
• Oversee workforce allocation, attendance, attrition, FTE requirements, cost efficiency, and operational risks
• Partner with HR, Recruitment, Training, Quality, WFM, IT, and Finance to support account performance
• Lead process improvement, automation, AI-enabled technology, transitions, and account expansion initiatives
• Lead, coach, and develop Team Leaders, CDI Specialists, Quality Auditors, Trainers, and support staff
• Oversee performance reviews, coaching, development plans, succession planning, engagement, retention, and employee relations
• Serve as the primary operational contact for assigned U.S. healthcare clients, in coordination with senior management
• Translate client requirements into operational plans and communicate performance, risks, escalations, and action plans
• Ensure adherence to applicable U.S. healthcare, CDI, coding, privacy, security, and client-specific requirements

About you

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a related healthcare degree
• Active U.S. Registered Nurse (USRN) license required; Philippine Registered Nurse (PHRN) license is an advantage
• Five to seven years of U.S. healthcare operations experience, preferably in CDI, medical coding, clinical operations, utilization management, or related services
• Two to three years of people management or operations leadership experience, preferably in CDI or offshore U.S. healthcare operations
• Strong knowledge of CDI, physician documentation, MS-DRGs, SOI/ROM, ICD-10-CM/PCS, and CMS guidelines
• Experience in healthcare BPO, KPO, shared services, or Philippine offshore operations is strongly preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, presentation, reporting, and client-facing skills
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Willingness to work U.S. business hours or night shift as required
• AHIMA - CCS or AAPC - CIC with one of the following: CCDS or CDIP
