Duties

• Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles with manual transmissions across various routes
• Must be able to drive and operate in New York
• Deliver freight to customers promptly while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
• Manage route driving efficiently by planning optimal paths to meet delivery schedules
• Assist with securing loads on flatbeds or tanker trucks to prevent shifting during transit
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered on the road

Skills

• Proven experience in truck driving with a valid CDL A license and clean driving record
• Skilled in manual transmission or Automatic operation for various types of commercial vehicles
• Knowledge of refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
• Ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or manual methods
• Strong understanding of route planning and route driving best practices
• Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and compliance with DOT regulations
• Experience with freight handling, securing loads, and managing delivery documentation
• 2-3 years experience
