CDL-A Hotshot Flatbed Driver

Job Summary

Milestone Xpress Inc. is seeking a dependable CDL-A Hotshot Flatbed Driver to transport freight safely and efficiently. Drivers will operate a company-provided Ram 3500 dually with a 40-foot flatbed trailer on routes throughout California, with OTR opportunities as our operation expands.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, communicates well with dispatch, and has experience operating commercial trucks and trailers. Some routes may require overnight travel.

Duties

• Safely operate a Ram 3500 dually with a 40-foot flatbed trailer
• Pick up and deliver freight safely and on schedule
• Properly secure loads using straps, chains, binders, tarps, and other securement equipment
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and trailer inspections
• Inspect cargo and load securement throughout each trip
• Use GPS and route-planning tools for efficient navigation
• Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and delivery paperwork
• Communicate with dispatch regarding pickups, deliveries, delays, and load status
• Maintain professional communication with customers, shippers, and receivers
• Report equipment or maintenance concerns promptly
• Keep company equipment clean and in good operating condition
• Follow all applicable DOT, FMCSA, and company safety requirements

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 1 year of relevant commercial driving experience
• Hotshot or flatbed experience preferred
• Acceptable driving record
• Ability to safely operate and maneuver a truck with a 40-foot flatbed trailer
• Knowledge of proper flatbed cargo securement
• Familiarity with chains, binders, straps, and tarps preferred
• Understanding of DOT and FMCSA regulations
• Ability to complete required vehicle inspections and driver documentation
• Strong communication, time-management, and navigation skills
• Dependable, safety-conscious, and professional
• Comfortable with overnight travel when required
• Ability to meet DOT driver qualification and drug and alcohol testing requirements
