CDL Class A Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across designated routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage freight effectively. The Truck Driver will operate various types of trucks, including tractor-trailers and refrigerated trailers, ensuring timely delivery while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Drive trucks to transport freight between locations, ensuring safe and timely delivery.
• Load and unload cargo using forklifts or manual methods, ensuring proper handling of goods.
• Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle before and after trips to ensure safety and compliance.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours driven and mileage.
• Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery times while adhering to regulations.
• Communicate with dispatchers regarding any delays or issues encountered during transport.
• Operate manual transmission vehicles when required, demonstrating proficiency in truck driving.
• Ensure the proper functioning of refrigerated trailers when transporting temperature-sensitive goods.

Skills

• Proven experience in truck driving with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
• Strong knowledge of route driving and freight handling procedures.
• Ability to operate forklifts for loading and unloading cargo.
• Familiarity with tractor-trailer operations and maintenance requirements.
• Experience with manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
• Excellent time management skills with a focus on punctuality and reliability.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with dispatchers and team members.
• Attention to detail in maintaining logs and following safety protocols.
