What they need

All State Pumping is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and safety-conscious Vacuum Truck Driver / Pump Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you will operate vacuum trucks to service residential septic systems, commercial grease traps, and lift stations.

If you take pride in serving your local community, enjoy working independently outdoors, and want a stable, year-round job with competitive pay and daily home time, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Vehicle Operation: Safely operate Class B vacuum trucks to and from customer sites, job locations, and disposal facilities in compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Pumping & Servicing: Locate, uncover, and pump out residential septic tanks, commercial grease traps, holding tanks, and lift stations.
  • Inspection & Assessment: Conduct visual inspections of tanks, baffles, and pumps to identify potential issues or maintenance needs; report findings to management and the customer.
  • Hose Handling & Equipment Setup: Unroll, connect, and maneuver vacuum hoses (often weighing 50+ lbs) through various ground conditions.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate professionally with homeowners and commercial site managers, explain service steps clearly, document the jobs with pictures and paperwork, and collect signatures upon completion.
  • Waste Disposal: Transport liquid waste safely and discharge it at designated municipal or state-approved disposal sites following all environmental and safety protocols.
  • Maintenance & Cleanliness: Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (DVIR). Keep the truck, hoses, tools, and cab clean and properly sanitized daily.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • License: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class B minimum).
  • Endorsements: Tanker endorsement required (or willingness to obtain before start date). Air brake endorsement required.
  • Physical Ability: Must be able to lift, pull, and drag up to 75 lbs regularly, crouch, bend, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Experience: 2+ years of commercial driving experience preferred; septic, vacuum truck, or liquid haul experience is a major plus (we will train the right candidate).
  • Screening: Must pass a pre-employment DOT drug screening, background check, and medical exam, with a clean driving record (MVR).
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, problem-solving ability, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and basic mobile device proficiency for job tracking and logging.

Why Join Our Team?

  • Local Routes: Home every night—no over-the-road (OTR) hauling.
  • Job Security: Essential industry with year-round work.
  • Modern Fleet: Well-maintained equipment and late-model trucks.
  • Career Growth: Opportunities for advanced training, certifications, and leadership roles.
