CDL Delivery Driver

Duties

• Safely operate tractor-trailers

• Load and unload freight efficiently using manual handling techniques or equipment like forklifts, ensuring cargo integrity and safety

• Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and maintain schedule adherence

• Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations during all phases of transportation, including proper documentation and safety procedures

• Perform routine vehicle inspections, basic maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly to prevent delays

• Load and secure freight properly to prevent damage during transit, including handling dangerous goods with care and precision

• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo manifests in accordance with regulatory standards

• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any route or cargo issues quicklyExperience

• Proven experience as a commercial truck driver with a focus on route driving and delivery driving

• Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, or dump trucks is highly desirable

• Experience operating manual transmission vehicles is a plus

• Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT regulations, and hazardous materials handling standards

• Demonstrated ability to handle logistics cargo safely and efficiently in various environments

• Prior experience with forklift operation or other loading/unloading equipment is advantageous
