Mixer Driver Job Description

Overview

· You will be driving and operating a concrete mixer truck.

· You will be picking up and delivering concrete inside the mixer truck to other crews on the job sites.

· You will operate the mixer truck on the job site you are assigned to until the job is poured to completion.

Responsibilities

· Maintain and drive mixer trucks- performing your daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.

· Communicating with other mixer drivers.

· Making sure to stick to your schedule and arrive at the plant / job site in a timely manner.

· Stay in constant communication with the supervisor / foreman on the job site.

· Fill out needed paperwork and maintain concrete tickets for office’s records.

Qualifications

· Must have valid CDL Class B minimum.

· Experience with driving a commercial vehicle.

· Ability to climb, stretch, bend over and lift 50 lbs.

· Ability to drive offroad when necessary.

· Ability to fill out and turn in required paperwork.

· Positive attitude.

· Must be a team player.

· Willing to work / drive for other divisions.

· Must have a working memory or ability to take thorough notes.

· Must be able to problem solve on the fly.

· Must be self-motivated and dependable.

· Ability to stay alert and aware of your surroundings while behind the wheel and operating the mixer.

· Ability to drive safely and wear safety gear required.

Truck Driver Job Description

Overview

· You will be driving short distances as well as long distances within the state of Illinois. You will not be crossing state lines.

· You will be driving into subdivisions that have roads paved already and more that do not have paved roads.

· You will have to turn around in tight spots and get creative with how to turn around sometimes.

· We will train you how to run our equipment to load your truck if you do not know how to run the units.

Responsibilities

· You will usually be doing one of three things as a truck driver:

o Hauling dirt

o Delivering materials

o Stocking the shop pits

· You will need to communicate with your supervisor to know what job needs attention next.

· You will need to communicate with any quarry you load material from.

· You will need to communicate with other truck drivers here at the company.

· You will have paperwork to fill out for every job that you haul to or from.

· Flexibility is a must since no two days are ever the same. Also, sometimes we may need you to drive a semi, other times we may need you to drive a tandem or dump truck.

· You will be responsible for the truck or semi that you drive for that day.

o Any maintenance or issues need to be addressed with the mechanics and your supervisor.

o You are responsible for fueling up, filling the DEF, and doing your own inspections in your pre-trip and post-trip walk around.

Qualifications

· Valid CDL A license with manual endorsement.

· Experience preferred but not required.

· Ability to follow oral directions.

· Ability to be on the road for long periods of time.

· Ability to write legibly.

· Ability to make smart decisions while behind the wheel of a company truck.
