Duties

• Safely operate a variety of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards.
• Plan and execute over-the-road (OTR) driving routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and route efficiency.
• Load and unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo including hazardous materials and dangerous goods.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, compliance with safety protocols, and proper functioning of all truck systems.
• Manage delivery documentation accurately, including bills of lading, manifests, and logs in compliance with hazardous materials regulations and DOT regulations.
• Load & unload freight efficiently at various locations while maintaining safety standards; handle special cargo such as refrigerated goods or tanker loads with precision.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or any issues encountered during transit.

Experience

• Proven experience as a commercial truck driver with a focus on delivery driving across diverse routes including OTR routes.
• Hands-on experience with truck loading and unloading procedures, including freight handling for hazardous materials or dangerous goods.
• Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, dump trucks, roll-off trucks or other specialized equipment is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for truck driving.
• Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently; experience with manual handling equipment such as forklifts is a plus.
• Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling processes to ensure safe transport of freight from start to finish.
• Valid CDL license with necessary endorsements (e.g., Hazmat) preferred; prior experience in automobile transportation or freight delivery is advantageous.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
