CDL Driver (DOT)

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and responsible CDL Driver (DOT) to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks to transport automobile parts, equipment, and merchandise to retail stores and client locations. Your expertise in commercial driving, route planning, and customer service will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to build strong client relationships and contribute to the efficient movement of goods across various routes.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial trucks in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and company policies.
• Transport automobile transportation equipment, parts, and merchandise to retail stores and clients efficiently.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring vehicles are in optimal condition and adhere to safety standards.
• Manage route driving schedules, adjusting as needed for traffic, weather, or delivery priorities.
• Build positive customer relationships through professional communication, timely deliveries, and attentive service.
• Assist with merchandising tasks at retail locations, including product placement and inventory checks.
• Perform heavy lifting using proper techniques to load and unload cargo safely while adhering to safe lifting practices.
• Upsell additional products or services when appropriate, leveraging strong sales skills to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and inventory records for accountability and reporting purposes.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during routes.

Experience

• Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL license (DOT certified).
• Familiarity with DOT regulations governing hours of service, vehicle maintenance, and safety protocols.
• Prior experience in automobile transportation or retail store delivery is preferred.
• Strong math skills for route calculations, pricing adjustments, and inventory management.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team coordination.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting practices.
• Demonstrated organizational skills to manage routes efficiently and maintain accurate records.
• Experience in sales or upselling products/services is a plus but not required.

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
