CDL Driver Regional

Duties

• Safely operate commercial trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers on regional routes.
• Navigate using GPS systems to ensure efficient delivery routes while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
• Load and unload freight accurately, handling hazardous materials and dangerous goods following DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with all DOT standards.
• Deliver freight to various locations within assigned regions, ensuring timely arrivals and proper cargo handling.
• Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, cargo manifests, and delivery documentation in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery status, or any issues encountered during transit.

Requirements

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for regional driving routes.
• Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving.
• Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials transportation.
• Knowledge of GPS navigation systems and ability to plan efficient routes over-the-road (OTR).
• Ability to handle manual transmission trucks and perform manual handling of cargo safely.
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations, FMCSA guidelines, and hazardous materials regulations.
• Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance at all times.
• Physical ability to load/unload freight manually when required; flexibility to adapt to varying cargo types such as freight or dangerous goods.
