CDL Shuttle Driver

The Woodlands of Knoxville is seeking an individual to transport college students from our property to UTK campus.

Tired of working a full day? Our day driver hours are from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm, Monday thru Friday when UTK is in session. The schedule is on a 30 minute rotation from property to UTK campus (Neyland Stadium).

Tired of driving a beat down old bus or rig? Our Shuttle is top notch and comes fully equipped with back-up camera and electric door. It holds 26 passengers comfortably offering overhead storage and wide isles for easy access.

Skills

• Must have good customer service skills
• Must be polite and professional and make sure passengers experience an inviting, welcoming, and iclusive ride. Our shuttles are not only relied on to be a safe transportation option but also a safe place for our residents.
• Patience is necessary
• Must be able to sit for several hours at a time.
• Must have experience in driving during winter weather on curvy and hilly terrain. If classes are in session on the UT campus the shuttle will be expected to be running.

Duties

• Drivers must arrive to work on time
• Drivers must drive their vehicles following a set schedule
• Drivers must gain familiarity with their route in case of detour or other traffic
• Drivers must answer passengers questions in a polite and friendly manner
• If problematic situations escalate, the driver must be able to deescalate a situation

Safety

The safety of passengers is the prime responsibility of bus drivers. At the beginning and end of their shift, they inspect their vehicle to ensure that it is functioning correctly. They must follow all traffic laws and posted speed limits, even at the expense of arriving late to their destinations. If their vehicle develops mechanical difficulties, they document the problems and communicate needed repairs to their supervisor.

Qualifications

No formal education is needed above a high-school diploma. Formal driving training and vehicle operation are traits required in a Shuttle Driver. Additionally, general safety concerns must be a high priority.

Requirements

• CDL
• Ability to pass a background check, a drug test and a medical exam (for CDL)
• Clean driving record with NO DUI or DWI within the past 5 years.
