About the role

We are seeking a talented and passionate CDP Pizza Maker to join the culinary team at Kala Group in Badung, Bali. This is a full-time position based on-site at our establishment. As a CDP Pizza Maker, you will be at the heart of our kitchen operations, responsible for crafting authentic, high-quality pizzas that delight our guests. This role is crucial to maintaining our reputation for excellence in food preparation and presentation, and you will work as part of a dynamic culinary team committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook pizzas to order, ensuring consistent quality, portion control, and presentation standards
• Manage the pizza station, including maintaining proper temperature control of ovens and preparation surfaces
• Follow all recipes and cooking procedures to ensure pizzas are prepared according to established standards
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pizza station, adhering to food safety and hygiene protocols
• Monitor ingredient inventory and communicate restocking needs to kitchen management
• Inspect food quality and reject items that do not meet our standards
• Assist with menu development and testing of new pizza recipes as required
• Support the kitchen team during peak service times and special events
• Maintain professional standards of appearance and conduct at all times

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a pizza maker or in a similar kitchen role within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment
• Strong knowledge of traditional and contemporary pizza-making techniques and authentic recipes
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining pizza ovens, including wood-fired and convection ovens
• Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen protocols
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service times whilst maintaining quality standards
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• A collaborative approach to working as part of a kitchen brigade
• Physical fitness and ability to work on your feet for extended periods
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to consistency
• Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are advantageous
• Knowledge of Italian cuisine and pizza traditions is highly desirable
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
