Cemetery Groundskeeper

Overview

A Cemetery Groundskeeper is needed! You will be working at both our Cottonwood and Anderson location during the week so you must be flexible in going back and forth. This position requires a STRONG WORTH ETHIC, attention to detail, and the ability to operate various machinery and tools. This role involves maintaining cemetery grounds, including landscaping, repairs, and general upkeep. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING:

• Grounds Maintenance: Mow lawns, trimming headstones with a weed eater, trim hedges, prune trees, and maintain other vegetation.
• Gravesite Preparation: Prepare gravesites for burial services, including digging graves and replacing sod.
• Equipment Operation: Operate lawnmowers, weed whackers, chainsaws, and other specialized equipment.
• General Maintenance: Perform general maintenance tasks, including repairs and upkeep of the cemetery.
• Safety and Security: Ensure the safety and security of the cemetery grounds and employees.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 150 lbs with assistance), walk and stand for long periods, and operate machinery.
• Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to operate and maintain various types of machinery.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain the appearance and upkeep of the cemetery grounds.
• Work Ethic: Reliable, hard-working, and able to work independently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.50 per hour
