Center Aide

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Center Aide to support our team at our Eureka Playcenter in fostering a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and experience working with children, particularly those with special needs. This role involves assisting teachers in implementing lesson plans, and managing classroom activities.

Duties

• Managing and coordinating the daily operation of the Community Center; including maintaining the cleanliness of the Center.
• Help plan and/or implement age-appropriate activities, lessons, and projects.
• Supervise children during playtime, meals, and other daily routines.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times.
• Assist in teaching basic skills, including sharing, turn taking, and social skills.
• Encourage and engage children in hands-on learning experiences.
• Help maintain a well-organized and tidy center environment.
• Assist in managing center behavior and discipline, ensuring a positive and respectful atmosphere.
• Assist in record-keeping, including attendance, sign in-sign out, initial paperwork required from adults, wavers, observations, incident reports, and emergency cards.
• Assist with front desk duties when necessary (helping adults with initial paperwork)
• Help with communication between the Center, parents, and caregivers.
• Prepare and maintain teaching materials and supplies.
• Follow all safety and health regulations to ensure the well-being of the children.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the classroom.
• Work closely with the managers and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and effective teaching team.

Requirements

• Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is preferred, but not required.
• Strong understanding of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices is preferred, but not required.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to manage classroom dynamics and implement behavior management techniques.
• A background in special education or experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred, but not required.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
