Responsibilities

• Operate and set up centerless grinding machines, ensuring precise material removal for high-quality finished parts
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and production documents to determine machining requirements
• Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances in accordance with GD&T standards
• Troubleshoot machine issues promptly, performing routine maintenance and adjustments to minimize downtime
• Program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) grinding machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and Fanuc controls for complex operations
• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and fabrication drawings accurately for machining specifications
• Handle materials safely using shop math skills, materials handling equipment like forklifts, and hand tools to ensure efficient workflow
• Maintain compliance with safety standards in production environments, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating centerless grinders or similar CNC grinding machinery in a manufacturing setting
• Strong knowledge of CNC programming, CAM programming, and Fanuc control systems
• Skilled in blueprint reading, GD&T interpretation, and dimensional measurement using micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools
• Mechanical aptitude with understanding of industrial equipment troubleshooting and factory machinery maintenance
• Familiarity with shop math, materials handling (including forklift operation), fabrication processes, and assembly techniques
• Experience working with CAD software such as SolidWorks is a plus for interpreting technical drawings
• Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and experience maintaining a safe workspace
• Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and work efficiently on machining tasks using CNC milling machines, lathes, stamping presses, press brake machines, and other manufacturing equipment
• Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
