The Orthopedic Surgery Center of Loxahatchee Groves is a new ambulatory surgery center specializing in Total Joints, Orthopedics, Spine, and Pain procedures. We are looking for a part-time Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. Experience is a MUST!

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Central Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper sterilization and handling of surgical instruments and medical equipment, supporting infection control protocols, and maintaining a sterile environment for patient safety. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care through meticulous processing and management of surgical tools and supplies.

Duties

• Perform sterile processing of surgical instruments, ensuring they are properly cleaned, decontaminated, assembled, and packaged for reuse.
• Handle surgical instruments with care, adhering to sterilization standards and safety protocols.
• Conduct decontamination procedures to eliminate all biological contaminants from instruments and equipment.
• Assemble and package medical instruments in sterile conditions to prepare them for surgical procedures.
• Manage inventory of sterile supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage conditions.
• Follow infection control guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and maintain a safe environment within the sterile processing area.
• Document processing activities accurately and maintain detailed records for compliance purposes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in sterile processing or related fields is preferred.
• Prior experience in sterile processing, surgical instrument sterilization, or a healthcare environment is advantageous.
• Knowledge of infection control practices and sterilization techniques.
• Ability to operate sterilization equipment and tools safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
