Certified Academic Tutor

Overview

Kingdom Scholars Academy provides one-on-one in person or virtual tutoring. We are looking for certified tutors that has flexible hours between 9AM-3PM. This is a 1099 contract position, so it is as needed. We provide instruction to students who have unique abilities. We are asking that applicants are well versed with working with students that may have learning disabilities. Background check is required and candidate must provide a payment so that the company can run the check prior to being hired.

Our team absolutely loves getting out to help close achievement gaps. Strong communication skills is required to maintain this position.

Duties

• Provide one-on-one and group tutoring sessions in subjects such as mathematics, science, or English language arts.
• Develop and adapt lesson plans that align with individual learning styles and educational goals.
• Utilize various learning technologies and digital tools to enhance instruction and engagement during online or in-person sessions.
• Assess student progress regularly, adjusting teaching strategies to ensure comprehension and skill mastery.
• Support students with special education needs by implementing appropriate instructional modifications.
• Foster a positive learning environment by managing classroom behavior and encouraging active participation.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and educational coordinators to track progress and set achievable academic objectives.

Skills

• Strong background in curriculum development and lesson planning across multiple subjects.
• Proficiency with learning technology platforms and online instruction tools.
• Excellent communication skills to clearly explain concepts and motivate students.
• Experience tutoring in science, mathematics, English language arts, or test preparation (such as SAT).
• Ability to adapt instruction based on diverse learning styles and cultural backgrounds.
• Knowledge of classroom management techniques suitable for children, adolescents, or adult learners.
• Demonstrated experience working with students from varied educational settings, including special education or preschool environments.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.51 per hour
