Duties

• Review and assign appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and DRG codes to medical records in accordance with current coding guidelines
• Ensure accurate documentation of medical terminology and procedures for inpatient and outpatient services
• Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software to process insurance claims efficiently
• Verify insurance coverage, submit third-party claims, and follow up on unpaid or denied claims to maximize revenue recovery
• Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure proper documentation for billing purposes
• Maintain detailed records of medical coding activities, billing transactions, and collections efforts
• Stay updated on changes in health insurance policies, medical coding regulations, and healthcare compliance standards

Qualifications

• Proven experience in medical coding and billing within a healthcare setting
• Strong knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding systems, and DRG classifications
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR/EHR) systems and billing software platforms
• Understanding of health insurance claim processing and revenue cycle management
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex medical records accurately
• Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and coding guidelines for inpatient services
• Ability to navigate health insurance policies and third-party billing procedures effectively
