The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, reliable, and able to work collaboratively with providers and other members of the clinical team.

Responsibilities

As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play an important role in keeping our providers and patient flow running smoothly. Responsibilities may include:

  • Rooming patients and obtaining accurate vital signs
  • Reviewing and updating medications, allergies, medical history, and pharmacy information
  • Documenting the patient's reason for visit and preparing charts for the provider
  • Performing EKGs, injections, vaccinations, and other in-office clinical procedures
  • Performing or assisting with point-of-care testing and specimen collection
  • Preparing examination rooms and maintaining appropriate medical supplies
  • Assisting providers during examinations and procedures as needed
  • Reviewing and responding to clinical messages under provider direction
  • Communicating with pharmacies, laboratories, specialists, and patients
  • Assisting with prescription refill requests
  • Obtaining prior authorizations when needed
  • Preparing referrals, orders, and other clinical documentation
  • Following up on laboratory, imaging, and testing results as directed by the provider
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in the patient's electronic medical record
  • Following OSHA, HIPAA, infection-control, and patient-safety standards
  • Helping maintain efficient patient flow throughout the office
  • Providing patients with a friendly, professional, and compassionate experience from start to finish

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a CMA who is:

  • Certified as a Medical Assistant
  • Experienced in a primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, or similar outpatient setting preferred
  • Comfortable obtaining vitals, performing EKGs, administering injections, and assisting with routine clinical procedures
  • Comfortable working with electronic medical records
  • Organized and able to manage multiple tasks without sacrificing accuracy
  • Dependable, punctual, and consistent
  • Professional and compassionate when communicating with patients
  • Comfortable communicating with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacies, specialists, and other healthcare professionals
  • Able to work independently while also being a strong team player
  • Willing to learn and take initiative
  • Able to remain calm and professional in a busy medical-office environment

What Makes Someone Successful Here

We value team members who show up, communicate, take ownership of their responsibilities, and genuinely care about patients. We want someone who notices what needs to be done and takes initiative rather than waiting to be asked.

Clinical skills are important, but so are attitude, reliability, professionalism, and the ability to make patients feel comfortable and cared for.

Why Join Advanced Primary Care?

You'll be joining a growing medical practice where your work directly contributes to the quality of care our patients receive. We value teamwork, communication, efficiency, and creating an environment where both patients and staff feel respected.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CMA looking for a long-term position with a busy and growing primary care practice.
